Global research

As part of its activities, Transparency International in BiH participates in the collection and analysis of data describing the causes and indicating the consequences of corruption at the global level. The data obtained in this way give us an insight into the progress in the fight against corruption, but also enable a comparison of different countries and their efforts to combat it.

These researches offer objective, measurable and relevant data and are the result of many years of work and experience in the field of researching the most diverse social phenomena using standardized methodologies and a scientific approach.

GLOBAL CORRUPTION PERCEPTION INDEX

The CPI (Corruption Perception Index) analyzes the perception of corruption in the public sector, and ranks 180 countries based on 13 independent studies and surveys of experts and business entities.

The index uses a scale from 0 to 100, where 0 represents the highest possible degree of corruption, while 100 represents the complete absence of corruption.

What do the numbers mean to you? Every year we rank countries based on the perceived level of corruption. Our Global Corruption Perception Index sends strong messages to governments they cannot ignore.

In addition to the numbers, unfortunately, the index cannot add up the reality or the individual frustrations of people living in those countries, but it can certainly provide a detailed analysis to the business sector and experts around the world for a better understanding. The Index is also largely responsible for putting the issue of corruption on the agenda of global policy deliberations.

GLOBAL CORRUPTION REPORT

The Global Corruption Report (GCR) is one of TI’s leading reports that with its expert analysis provides a new form of anti-corruption, emphasizing specific forms of corruption. The latest reports have an emphasis on corruption and climate change, the private sector, water and the judiciary.

The report presents an innovative approach in qualitative and quantitative research in terms of data collection, experience and other research tools. In this sense, the benefit of the global report is a better understanding of dynamics of the phenomenon of corruption, the promotion of practical and established solutions, and better management and greater accountability.

BRIBE PAYERS INDEX

The most developed countries in the world are susceptible to corruption. When their companies use bribes to do business abroad, and they are not banned, then we can say that the countries are effectively participating in the export of corruption.

The Bribery Payment Index ranks the richest countries in the world based on the propensity of companies to pay bribes abroad, and provides an overview of the worst industrialized countries. The questions on which the bribery index is based first ask respondents to identify the country of origin of the foreign companies that do most of their business in their country.

GLOBAL CORRUPTION BAROMETER

Have you ever paid a bribe? Is corruption widespread in your country? Is the government in your country doing everything to stop corruption? We need to hear your opinion in the Global Corruption Barometer. The Global Corruption Barometer examines how corruption affects ordinary people. The research provides indications of the forms and extent of corruption from the point of view of citizens around the world. The Barometer is unique in that it gives a voice to those affected by corruption – and helps to better understand their concerns and experiences.

STUDY OF THE NATIONAL INTEGRITY SYSTEM

The integrity system includes key institutions, sectors or certain “pillar” activities that contribute to integrity, transparency and responsibility in society. When these government institutions function properly, they form a healthy system and a strong system of state integrity, which is effective in the fight against corruption.

The integrity system includes key institutions, sectors or certain “pillar” activities that contribute to integrity, transparency and responsibility in society. When these government institutions function properly, they form a healthy system and a strong system of state integrity, which is effective in the fight against corruption.

The conclusions of these analyzes represent the current state of a country, its political will, and the role of civil society for the necessary relevant reforms.
