Judiciary and Prosecution of Corruption
For several years now, since 2010 to be precise, Transparency International BiH has been implementing project activities aimed at monitoring the work of judicial authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina relating to the prosecution of criminal offenses which, depending on the applicable legal provisions, are called criminal offenses of corruption, i.e., criminal acts against official and other responsible duties.
The value of the undertaken activities lies in the fact that, after a certain period of time has passed, it is possible to review proceedings in criminal-legal treatment of these criminal acts and their perpetrators, and in a very precise and measurable way, objectively point out some of the problems that the competent judicial authorities must face in order to raise the level of their efficiency in suppressing corrupt criminal acts.
In its reports and analyses, TI BiH presents statistical data on the work of judicial authorities, prosecutor’s offices and courts at all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which refer to the total number of reports in the work of prosecutor’s offices, the number of investigations conducted and indictments filed, as well as the number and structure of court decisions made in cases of corrupt criminal acts.
Below you can find TI BIH publications related to judiciary and corruption prosecution.
