About the School of Integrity

Since 2018, Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) has been organizing an educational program called Integrity School, which is based on the concept of a social integrity system developed by Transparency International.

The integrity system includes key institutions, sectors or “pillars” that contribute to integrity, transparency and responsibility in society, and which rest on foundations that represent social values and the awareness of citizens. The school combines an academic with a practical approach, and its goal is the development and acquisition of knowledge and skills needed by young activists, future leaders for successful social engagement and action in the public interest to promote and develop a culture of integrity, responsibility and transparency.

The school aims to provide theoretical knowledge and relevant experiences through three modules on the topics of Politics, State and Society, Citizen, Human Rights and Freedoms and Leadership and Economy.

The school exposes its students to the latest developments in the fight against corruption and accountability and offers real opportunities for young people to propose and advocate for anti-corruption reforms and try to implement their ideas in practice. Given the fact that the TI BiH School of Integrity is aimed at future leaders, the combined approach of theoretical and practical knowledge will eventually develop their practical skills, as well as their understanding of concepts such as integrity, transparency and good governance.

The theoretical goals to be achieved within the TI BiH School of Integrity are: consideration of the issue of corruption in terms of economic efficiency and growth; mechanism of transparency, proactive transparency and trends in the field of freedom of information in connection with the prevention of corruption; consideration of the role that good governance, promoting the principles of integrity, responsibility and the rule of law play in achieving social and economic development, as well as the basic mechanism for ensuring the role of law; critical approach to existing theories.
