Core support

The Embassy of Sweden in Bosnia and Herzegovina has decided to provide basic support to Transparency International in BiH, in order to strengthen long-term efforts and approaches in the fight against corruption and the rule of law; developing new solutions to complex and serious challenges of corruption in BiH society; and enabling the sustainability and consistency of anti-corruption efforts.

Core support is based on the main strategic priorities of Transparency International in BiH, which are aimed at:

1. Establishing strong and productive cooperation with citizens and institutions, with additional focus on agents of change identified within institutions:
   • Empowering citizens and partners to take action against corruption and participate in decision-making processes
   • Strengthening coalitions and partnerships with all relevant stakeholders have also been established
2. Influencing the adoption and monitoring of the introduction and implementation of anti-corruption standards and policies at all levels of government in BiH and the fight for social justice:
   • Improved and strengthened anti-corruption legislation based on relevant international standards and recommendations
   • More effective enforcement of laws and standards and reduced impunity for corrupt practices
   • Improved implementation of anti-corruption strategies and plans in leading institutions
   • Higher level of integrity shown by organizations and citizens
3. Strengthening the capacity and image of the organization and better positioning of the organization within the global network
