Workshops held as part of the PressStart program

Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) started the implementation of trainings within the PressStart program, intended to strengthen the capacities of young journalists and activists in the fight against corruption. The program, which started in December 2023 and continued through educational activities in 2024, is focused on the basics of journalism, corruption research and the application of new technologies in journalism.

The first workshop, held from December 20 to 22, 2023, gathered participants around the topic of the basics of journalism and corruption research, while the second workshop, held on January 8 and 9, 2024, focused on the use of new technologies in journalistic work. The participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the media industry, exchange experiences and gain new knowledge that will help them in their further professional development.

These workshops are being held at an important time, bearing in mind the recent adoption or announcements of a number of laws aimed at limiting public space and the challenges faced by the media and the community of civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The PressStart program shows TI BiH’s continued commitment to improving transparency, fighting corruption, and strengthening democratic processes through the education and empowerment of new generations of journalists and activists.

TI BiH thanks all participants and lecturers for their contribution to this program and expresses the hope that the knowledge gained during these workshops will contribute to the further development of free and independent media in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
