Sarajevo, October 24, 2023 – Transparency International in BiH (TI BiH) and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIRN BiH) organized a workshop entitled “Reporting on the Processing of Corruption Cases Through the Prism of the Non-Governmental Sector and the Media”. This important workshop was held at the Holiday Hotel in Sarajevo.

During the workshop, representatives of TI BiH and BIRN BiH presented key methods and techniques for monitoring the work of the judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Special focus was on the media role in reporting on prosecution of corruption cases, as well as on the importance of transparency and responsibility in this process.

Emsad Dizdarević from TI BiH and Semir Mujkić from BIRN BiH opened the workshop with introductory presentations, while Emina Dizdarević Tahmiščija from BIRN BiH spoke about the specifics of reporting on corruption cases.

The workshop provided the participants with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the tools, methods and techniques used to monitor and analyze the integrity of the judiciary. Through interactive sessions and practical examples, participants learned how to effectively monitor the work of judicial institutions and how the media can contribute to transparency and accountability in the fight against corruption.

This event brought together representatives of civil society organizations, students of law, journalism and criminology. The workshop goal was to strengthen the capacities of all relevant actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to improve the fight against corruption and the efficiency of the judiciary, which are the key factors on its way to joining the European Union.
