Sarajevo – Representatives of Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in a two-day training session “How to proceed: The role of civil society in the negotiation process of BiH for EU membership”. On the first training day, Vladimir Medjak, vice president of the European Movement in Serbia and a legal expert, spoke about the negotiation process with examples from Serbia. On the second day, Jovana Marović, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro, shared her experiences from Montenegro, from the point of view of civil society and institutions. Furthermore, Bojana Selaković, coordinator of the National Convention on the European Union in Serbia, spoke about the experiences of civil society in Serbia, with a focus on the advantages and challenges of the EU Convention.

The training is intended for representatives of non-governmental organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and was organized by Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Monitoring BiH. Embassy of Sweden in Bosnia and Herzegovina supported this event.

The goal of the training is to strengthen the capacity of civil society in the process of negotiations of BiH for membership in the European Union, through the exchange of experiences and examples from the region.
