Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina is organizing a regional conference entitled Corruption, Media and Censorship in the Western Balkans, as part of a two-day conference dedicated to the International Right to Know Day.

Banja Luka, 28th September 2016 – Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina is organizing a regional conference entitled Corruption, Media and Censorship in the Western Balkans, as part of a two-day conference dedicated to the International Right to Know Day.
Conference will be focused on the freedom of the media and expression in regard to the corruption in the region, which will be the opportunity to discuss if and to what extent the media deals with the corruption issues, considering the negative trend of compromising the freedom of expression in the region.

The conference will bring together the representatives of the media and the relevant organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia and Croatia, as well as representatives of the international institutions, who will discuss the prerequisites for ensuring the media freedom in the region, structure and transparency of ownership over media, including the level of censorship and self-censorship, and the influence they have on the anti-corruption fight in the countries in the region.

The conference will be held on 29th September 2016, at the Hotel Bosna in Banja Luka, starting at 11.00h. Press conference is planned to be held at 10.30h, and the agenda is attached below.
