Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) in cooperation with Transparency International The Czech Republic organized a study visit to Prague (Czech Republic) for three representatives of contracting and regulatory authorities in the BiH health sector.
The study visit lasted from 19. – 24.06.2016. Representatives of the Health Insurance Fund of the Republika Srpska, the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Institute of Health Insurance and Reinsurance of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in it. During their stay in the Czech Republic, a series of visits and consultative meetings were organized with the Czech contracting authorities, including representatives of the Czech Medical Suppliers Association – CzechMed, Thomayer Hospital, Prague General University Hospital and the Czech Ministry of Finance. On that occasion, the participants of the visit had the opportunity to exchange experiences and examples of good practice that both countries can translate into recommendations for improving the work in their jurisdiction.
The visit was organized within the project “Public Procurement in the Health Sector: Education of Contracting Authorities” and financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic through the Transition program. In the coming period, participants are expected to contribute in the form of recommendations and comments on existing legislation in this area and the preparation of accompanying analyzes of public procurement in the health sector by the project implementer.
