Legal support in protection of freedom of speech

OBJECTIVES 

The main results expected include:

• Greater awareness of journalists and activists on their rights, in order to protect themselves from malicious persecution
• Established legal protection network that can be sustained in long-term and ensure adequate and timely legal support to protect human rights
• Greater awareness among the judiciary and legal community on specific issues to be monitored across the defamation cases
• Established oversight of the handling of defamation cases to prevent potential abuses
• Greater awareness of CSOs on communication needs of stakeholders and improved capacities and communication approaches towards their target groups
• Increased outreach and communication between CSOs and other sectors, such as academia, youth, artists and other influencers
• Developed and implemented new communication approaches of CSOs
• Provided assistance to CSOs to tackle the barriers imposed by new NGO law
