Conference “Challenges of the Public Procurement System in Bosnia and Herzegovina”

Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) and the Center for Media Development and Analysis (CRMA) are organizing a conference “Challenges of the Public Procurement System in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which will serve as an opportunity to discuss activities and plans to improve the legal framework on public procurement in BiH, with a focus on key anti-corruption activities in this area.

Sarajevo, 10. December 2019 – Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) and the Center for Media Development and Analysis (CRMA) are organizing a conference “Challenges of the Public Procurement System in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which will serve as an opportunity to discuss activities and plans to improve the legal framework on public procurement in BiH, with a focus on key anti-corruption activities in this area.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the current state of the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Public Procurement of BiH , and to hear about experiences in the practice of other countries, when it comes to their public procurement systems and legal protection.

The conference is held in the framework of USAID’s support to citizens in the fight against corruption, and in introductory speeches, participants will be addressed Eric Nelson – US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Johann Sattler – Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH, Jenan Salcin – Director of the BiH Public Procurement Agency , and representatives of the organizers: Srdjan Blagovcanin – Chairman of the TI BiH Steering Committee and Eldin Karic – Director of CRMA.

The event will bring together representatives of public procurement bodies – the Public Procurement Agency and the Complaints Review Office, representatives of the judiciary, audit institutions, contracting authorities and bidders, and civil society organizations and representatives of international organizations and institutions.

The conference will be held December 11, 2019 starting at 09.00, at the Holiday Hotel in Sarajevo, and press statements are scheduled for 09:15. The agenda is below.
