TI BiH presents the Corruption Perceptions Index for 2021. year

24 January 2022

Sarajevo, 24. January 2022Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) is organizing a press conference to present the results of the Global Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2021. year. The conference will be held in Tuesday, 25. January at 10.00 in the Hotel Europe in Sarajevo (Atrium hall).

The Corruption Perceptions Index, published annually by Transparency International, is the most globally recognized indicator of the prevalence of corruption in the public sector. This year, it covered 180 countries and territories, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is based on expert analyzes as well as surveys of business community representatives around the world.

CPI focus for 2021. year is the relationship between human rights violations and corruption. Research has shown that respect for human rights and civil liberties is key in the fight against corruption, and that disrupting democracy results in the strengthening of authoritarian regimes, which in turn leads to higher levels of corruption.

Srđan Blagovčanin, Chairman of the Management Board of TI BiH, and Ivana Korajlić, Executive Director of TI BiH, will address the media at the presentation.
