Banja Luka, January 30, 2023 – Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) is organizing a media conference presenting the results of the global Corruption Perceptions Index for 2022. The conference will be held on Tuesday, January 31 at 9:30 a.m. at Hotel Europe in Sarajevo (Atrium Hall) .
The Corruption Perceptions Index published annually by Transparency International is the most globally recognized indicator of the prevalence of corruption in the public sector. It covers 180 countries and territories, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is based on expert analyzes as well as surveys of representatives of business communities around the world.
The focus of the CPI for 2022 is the relationship between corruption, conflict and security, that is, the way in which corruption poses a threat to peace by undermining trust in institutions and their legitimacy. This year’s research highlights the realization that countries with high CPI scores are more resistant to threats posed by organized crime, which is especially applicable to the countries of the Western Balkans, bearing in mind the achieved CPI result for this region.
The media will be addressed by Srđan Blagovčanin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TI BiH and Ivana Korajlić, Executive Director of TI BiH.
