TI BiH ORGANIZES ROUND TABLE ON DRAFT LAW ON DETERMINING THE ORIGIN OF PROPERTY AND SPECIAL PROPERTY TAX

Banja Luka, 12. September 2021 – Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) is organizing a public debate / round table on the Draft Law on Determining the Origin of Property and the Special Property Tax. The aim of the debate is to review the solutions from the Draft in the form of a round table, compare them with the experiences from the Republic of Serbia, which has already passed a similar law, and open a discussion on what legal solutions are necessary in the fight against corruption and illegally acquired property.

Nemanja Nenadić, program director of the organization Transparency Serbia, will present an analysis that presents experiences from the Republic of Serbia, but also considers valid legal solutions from the Law on Tax Procedure of Republika Srpska and the Law on Confiscation of Property Arising from Republika Srpska.

The round table will be attended by representatives of institutions, civil society, the media, as well as MPs. The round table will be held on Monday, the 13th. September 2021, at the Hotel Bosna in Banja Luka, Kralja Petra I Karadjordjevica 97, starting at 1 p.m. Press statements are scheduled for 12:50 p.m.
