This is the third lawsuit won by TIBiH due to the failure of submitting data on the situation within the banking sector in the Republic of Srpska

Banja Luka, 4th July 2016 – The District Court in Banja Luka adopted the lawsuit filed by Transparency International in BiH (TI BiH) against the Banking Agency of the Republic of Srpska for concealing information on the work of Banka Srpske. TI BiH requested a copy of an external auditor reports for 2013 and 2014, specifically requested opinion of the external auditor if applied, as well as all other information on the measures that the Agency, as an organ of control, has undertaken in the case against Banka Srpske.
The Agency refused to submit the requested information under an explanation that it was a trade secret. This is the third lawsuit won by TI BiH for failing to submit data on the situation in the banking sector of the Republic of Srpska which has been under public scrutiny ever since Bobar Bank was closed. Banka Srpske is the second bank that has been forbidden to continue its operations in the last two years, and the Banking Agency has never explained publicly its decisions and the fact that no control or prevention mechanisms had been used.
In the new proceeding TI BiH will request from the Agency to finally submit all information so that public can at last find out about the work of the control organ in the period before the bankrupt banks are closed.
