As part of celebrating the International Anti-Corruption Day, Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) is organizing a panel discussion entitled „Anti-corruption agenda 2022“.
Panel discussion will bring together experts, representatives of the international community and representatives of local institutions who will discuss further direction of the anti-corruption fight in BiH, with special emphasis on the implementation of new EU Strategy in the Western Balkans, including the announced new reform processes in the field of the rule of law.
The introductory speech The rule of law and EU policy of conditionality in the Western Balkanswill be given by Marko Kmezic, lecturer at the Center for Southeastern Europe Studies at the University of Graz, who will analyze the current EU approach and effects of this approach on the implementation of the anti-corruption reforms.
The second part, panel discussion Anti-corruption agenda 2022 – New perspectives of EU integrations and reform priorities, will be attended by the British Ambassador to BiH – Matthew Field, Head of the Rule of Law Section at the Office of the EUSR – Richard Wood, Deputy Ambassador of the United States to BiH – Ellen Germain, Executive Director of the Open Society Fund of BiH – Dobrila Govedarica, Head of Development Cooperation at Embassy of Sweden in BiH – Marie Bergstrom and Director of the Directorate for European Integration – Edin Dilberovic. Representatives of the international community, civil society and BiH institutions will have the opportunity to use this discussion in order to analyze the current (un)successful reforms, so to be able to define priorities for the following four years in the field of rule of law and anti-corruption fight, with special emphasis on duties of BiH in the process of European integration.
Panel discussion will be held on Wednesday,12th December 2018 at the Hotel Europe (Atrium Hall) in Sarajevo, at 11.00h. Press conference will be held at 10.30h. Please find the agenda attached below.
