Invitation to the conference Integrity of higher education in BiH

Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH) and Friedrich Naumann’s Foundation organize a conference, entitled ‘Integrity of higher education in BiH’, which will be held on June 8^th in the hotel Europa in Sarajevo, starting at 11.00 a.m.  Due to the numerous problems facing higher education in BiH, such as a complex system of regulation and cumbersome administration, undefined responsibilities, numerous scandals that led to the decline of public confidence and higher education institutions., Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina has focused its activities on ensuring the integrity and the quality in higher education, in order to prevent corruption and all irregularities which could distort trust in educational system.

For this reason, the aim of the conference ‘Integrity of higher education in BiH’ is the concretization of not only the problems that hinder the progress of higher education system, but also steps that institution are taking or will take with a view of their elimination. The ultimate goal of TI BiH, relating to higher education, is to set up cooperation with universities that will lead to the drafting of anti-corruption plans whose aim is to reduce opportunities for corruption and improvement of integrity in higher education.

The Agency for Higher Education and Quality Assurance in BiH, entity and cantonal ministries, Vice – Chancellor’s Office, inspection of entities, the OSCE, WUS Austria, NGOs and the media will take participation at the conference.
