Attendees of TI BiH School of Integrity said the effective fight against th corruption in BiH is possible

The best attendees of TI BiH School of Integrity, which has been organized in four cities in the form of two-day workshops, gathered on 7th to 9th April in Banja Luka to present their essays regarding corruption in our country and possibilities of establishing integrity system.

„Integrity system can overcome corruption phenomenon and reduce corruption in BiH to a minimum. There are democratic institutions in BiH which are in charge of establishing the rule of law, but they are not effective“, it was concluded after the debate among the attendees of the School of Integrity organized by Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH).
The best attendees of TI BiH School of Integrity, which has been organized in four cities (Travnik, Trebinje, Bihac and Bijeljina) in the form of two-day workshops, gathered on 7th to 9th April in Banja Luka to present their essays regarding corruption in our country and possibilities of establishing integrity system. This was also the occasion to organize a debate with the topic „Integrity vs Corruption“.
During the final two-day visit to Banja Luka, the attendees of the School of Integrity were given a possibility to talk to the editorial staff of portal BUKA, to find out more about the work of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, to talk to MPs about the work of the Parliament and the challenges it faces, as well as about the position of young people in BiH, the path of BiH toward Euro-Atlantic integration, and other issues of our society. TI BiH School of Integrity is a project supported by the US Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina in which almost a hundred attendees aged 18-28 from all around the country gained basic knowledge on the harmful effects of corruption, rule of law and the importance of transparency in the work of public authorities.
The debate was also attended by Mr Edward Gallagher, Director of the US Embassy Branch Office in Banja Luka, who welcomed all participants and said how pleased he was with the attitudes of young people willing to talk about corruption phenomenon.
The best essays written by the attendees of the School of Integrity have been collected in the publication „Integrity vs Corruption“ which can be found on TI BiH website, in the section „Publications and Surveys“.
