“20 years later, the Western Balkans and BiH – has corruption won?”

On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day , Transparency International in BiH (TI BiH), with the financial support of the Swedish Development Agency SIDA, is organizing a conference entitled ” 20 years later, the Western Balkans and BiH – has corruption won? Which will be held at the Swissotel Hotel starting at 10:30 am.

Sarajevo, 10. December 2020 – On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day , Transparency International in BiH (TI BiH), with the financial support of the Swedish Development Agency SIDA, is organizing a conference entitled ” 20 years later, the Western Balkans and BiH – has corruption won? Which will be held at the Swissotel Hotel starting at 10:30 am.

This year, TI BiH celebrates 20 years of existence and activity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the central theme of the conference will be a review of the fight against corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the countries of the region in the past two decades. Bearing in mind that corruption remains a pervasive challenge to democracy and the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the neighboring countries of the Western Balkans, the conference will open a discussion on challenges, progress and lessons learned in fighting corruption over the past 20 years. The panelists at the conference will be experts from the region, as well as representatives of institutions and civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The conference will be opened by N.E. Johanna Strömquist, Ambassador of Sweden to BiH and HE E. Eric Nelson, US Ambassador to BiH.
