Political Integrity Data Scoping in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Integrity Watch in the Western Balkans and Turkey

According to the Corruption Perceptions Index, BiH has recorded a decline and has the lowest score in the Western Balkans region and ethnic divisions are hampering democratic institutions in the fight against corruption.
Although there is a legal framework that allows access to information, there are many challenges in its application. Information on public procurement is relatively accessible, while data on property and political financing are less transparent.
Centralization of data exists only partially, and most of the data is fragmented and difficult to access. Institutions responsible for collecting data on political integrity face a variety of challenges, including resources and independence.
While some institutions show a willingness to improve transparency, more efforts are needed to turn political commitments into real practice and to develop a culture of openness and integrity.
