New EU directive on the protection of whistleblowers in the context of the private sector in BiH

This document aims to review the legal solutions from the current draft Law on Determining Origin
property and special property tax of the Republika Srpska, in the context of their importance for the fight against
corruption, and especially having in mind the dilemmas that have already arisen in the Republic of Serbia during the adoption
of the same Act in early 2020. .
Although the issue of examining the origin of property is not new in our legal space, since the regulations are similar
existed in the time of the SFRY, the main goals of the legislator have changed. While in earlier times he was a legislator
primarily sought to trace the illegal income of citizens and thus solve the consequences of widespread
problems of gaining income from unregistered economic activities or avoiding tax and other levies,
the need to fight corruption more effectively is now highlighted.
We will try to see to what extent the proposed legal solutions can contribute to this goal, and having in mind
see also the provisions of regulations that already exist in the Republika Srpska or at the level of the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
