30 Years Since Dayton: The Building of a Captured State

10 December 2025

“30 Years Since Dayton: Building a Captured State” offers a critical assessment of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s post-war development from 1995 to 2025, focusing on state-building efforts, the role of international oversight, political dynamics, economic recovery, and anti-corruption reforms.

The publication highlights key turning points, the persistent influence of corruption on governance, the current constitutional and political crisis, as well as the country’s trajectory toward EU integration.

It concludes with lessons learned over three decades and outlines two possible scenarios for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s future.
