Improving accountability through strengthening networks of civil society organizations – SANCUS

Project goal: The main goal of the project is to improve transparency and accountability of the judiciary in BiH with a special focus on transparency and effectiveness of disciplinary procedures against judges and prosecutors.

The project will focus on assessing the level of transparency of relevant institutions within the judicial system of BiH at all levels, including courts, prosecutor’s offices and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, in order to increase access to public data in the justice sector in BiH.

In addition to the above, the project will focuse on various aspects of judiciary work: transparency of courts and prosecutor’s offices, transparency of disciplinary procedures, implementation monitoring when it comes to the integrity and accountability mechanism through the monitoring of individual cases, as well as the assessment of effectiveness of individual institutions in the prosecution of corruption and organized crime.

The use of digital tools plays a key role when providing all citizens with access to relevant information about the work of the judiciary and its key officials.

The project includes three key activities:

1. Development of the Transparency Index of Courts and Prosecutor’s Offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
2. Monitoring of disciplinary proceedings before the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council commission and court proceedings for criminal acts of corruption and organized crime before the courts in BiH;
3. Development of an online platform for the Transparency Index of Courts and Prosecutor’s Offices in BiH;
