Transparency in the Financing of Political Parties

The Transparency of Political Party Financing 2018 is dedicated to the promotion and strengthening of the transparency of political parties through the monitoring of election campaign expenses and the use of public resources during the election campaign.

Specific objectives of the project:

  • Provide the public with all accurate and independent information about the costs of the election campaign
  • Initiate a public debate on the amount and sources of funds used to finance election campaigns
  • Monitor the use of public funds for the purpose of the election campaign
  • Improve election campaign monitoring by identifying cases of abuse of regulations on the financing of political parties
  • Monitor the implementation of regulations on financing of political parties
  • Launch a discussion in the media community about good and bad practices in election campaign reporting

 

Main activities:

  1. Monitoring the use of public spending before and during the election campaign
  2. Monitoring the election campaign and the expenses of political parties
  3. Informing the public about the monitoring results
  4. Analysis and presentation of the final report
  5. Advocating for the improvement of the legal framework

 

Phase II
  • media analysis on budget allocations in election and non-election years;
  • advocating for the improvement of the legal framework of the Election Law and the Law on Political Party Financing;
  • additional analyzes of political parties financial reports.
