Transparency and accountability in public financial management
The goal of the project is to achieve responsible and transparent public spending through the availability of relevant, timely and reliable information on the allocation of public resources. Disclosure of information on public funds will enable stronger public control, and provide public finance managers with feedback on their work.
Specific objectives of the project:
- providing insight into financial management in public companies through a unique and interactive database of public companies in BiH
- identifying potential conflicts of interest in the management of public enterprises and public institutions
- identifying individual cases of mismanagement of public funds
- mapping political influences on the distribution of public funds and management positions in public enterprises and public institutions
- reporting to the competent institutions on observed irregularities
- informing the public about public financial management
Activities :
The project consists of four phases:
- Data collection and updating of the existing database of public companies
- Analysis
- Promotion of findings
- Strategic litigation
Focusing on the following issues:
- Transparency in public enterprises
- Combating conflicts of interest in public companies and public institutions
- Distribution of public funds to non-governmental organizations / associations

- continuing to provide insight into the financial management of state-owned enterprises through a unique and interactive database of SOEs in BiH
- detecting potential conflict of interest in the management of SOEs and public institutions
- identifying individual cases of mismanagement of public funds
- mapping political influences on the distribution of public funds and management positions in SOEs and public service institutions
- reporting detected irregularities to relevant institutions
- providing general public with accurate information about public finance management
