Project Purpose:

The TI BiH Academy for Women’s Empowerment in Politics aims to build women’s capacity to effectively and actively participate in politics, enhancing the quality of their political participation and gender justice, and to promote women’s equal right to political representation. The main objective of the project is to develop leadership skills among women, with a special emphasis on education about transparency, accountability and integrity, as a key factor in fighting corruption. The Academy will combine lectures with interactive work through group discussions, small group activities and analysis of written material.
Planned activities:

• Curriculum planning: Women’s political participation and representation in Bosnia and Herzegovina; The Role of Transparency and Accountability in Contemporary Politics; Gender and Corruption
• TI BiH Academy for Women’s Empowerment in Politics Workshops in Istočno Sarajevo, Bijeljina, Zenica i Bihać
• Developing and publishing handbooks covering topics discussed during the Academy
• Media presentation of the project and handbook in Banja Luka

Expected Results:

• Enhanced public awareness on women’s political participation
• Increased women’s leadership capacities to participate in decision-making and strengthened skills to effectively engage in decision making
• Published handbooks educate readers on women’s participation and representation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Role of Transparency and Accountability in Contemporary Politics and Gender and Corruption
• Target group: Women aged 18-28 in four cities: Istočno Sarajevo, Bijeljina, Bihać i Zenica.
