Promoting Accountability of Elected Officials and the Use of Technology in Election Monitoring

The project aims to improve the transparency and fairness of the 2024 Local Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina by establishing a comprehensive monitoring system, that will oversee the actions of political parties, candidates, and public officials before the election, collect and analyze data to prevent misuse of state resources and campaign cost irregularities, and involve citizens in the oversight process.

Specific objectives:

• Identified and addressed irregularities in campaign expenditure and missus of state resources
• Encouraged citizens report potential irregularities during pre-election campaign
• Competent authorities react on identified irregularities
• Public informed about specific irregularities and issues discovered during the monitoring process

Evaluation plan

• TIBiH will regularly inform the public about electoral irregularities.
• TIBiH will monitor reactions of relevant institutions to reported election irregularities.
• E-tool for citizen oversight will be promoted and utilized to encourage citizens to report electoral irregularities.
