Support for the Open Government Partnership initiative in BiH

Main goal of the project is to ensure the joint action of government and civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of establishing open government through the promotion of proactive transparency in the work of public institutions and strengthening of their capacities.

Specific goals of the project are:

• To improve the cooperation between civil society organizations (CSOs) and government institutions through the process of educations and consultations related to the open government and proactive transparency;
• To improve the cooperation between CSOs and government institutions through the consultation process in order to make all government levels participate in meeting obligations provided by OGP Initiative (making first action plans);
• To mobilize/support/empower CSOs through the expansion of informal group of civil society organizations/key CSOs which are already active in the fields relevant for OGP in order to continuously promote principles and standards of the OGP platform.

Project activities:

Activities planned for the implementation of the set goal will be performed in two mutually related components:

1. Support the OGP Initiative through the education of lower government levels of BiH
2. Advocacy activities and promotion of principles of OGP in BiH
3. Research and analytical activities within which 3 policy analysis (policy memorandum or policy briefs) will be made, as well as the monitoring of the anti-corruption strategy focused on the identified priorities relevant to OGP

Expected results:

1. Increased engagement of BiH civil society organizations on improving transparency and accountability of the work of government bodies / Expanded informal partnership of the key CSOs aimed at supporting and promoting Partnership at all government levels;
2. Increased knowledge and built capacities related to the mechanisms and communication forms with all interested parties and citizens in order to open the government, and thus increase the accountability and transparency in the work of public institutions;
3. Interested parties and citizens to be informed about the project results and compliance with the basic principles of transparency in the work of institutions that have passed the education training.
