Jačanje povjerenja javnosti u tužilački sistem BiH kroz unapređenje transparentnosti i odgovornosti

The aim of the project is to strengthen the prosecutors’ capacity to take a leading role in coordinating activities in implementation of the Strategy measures when it comes to handling persons that come into contact with prosecutors in BiH. During the implementation of project activities, a special attention will be drawn to the improvement of transparency of work, capacities, efficiency, and credibility through active involvement of civil society as a link between the prosecutors’ offices and the categories that come into contact with the prosecutors’ offices as well as the entire public.

The direct beneficiaries of the project are:

1. Prosecutors’ offices in BiH;
2. Students and high school students;
3. Citizens, civil society representatives and public institutions in cities where community security forums will be established.

The indirect beneficiaries of the project are:

1. Citizens coming in contact with prosecutors, the wider public, non-governmental organizations, particularly vulnerable categories of people such as women, children and members of the minority.

The main activities:

• Interacting with citizens, developing a detailed plan on motivating citizens to make their contribution to the work of the prosecutors’ offices,
• visits to the prosecutors’ offices by high school and university students, identification of public institutions and civil society organizations that may be partners to the prosecutors’ offices that represent the interests of women, children and members of minorities,
• establishment of a forum with citizens, public institutions and non-governmental organizations,
• organization of 10 public debates in 10 established forums,
• organization of the presentation of the work of the prosecutors’ office within the forum, visibility-oriented promotional activities

The expected results of the project are:

• Increased interaction in the work of prosecutors’ offices, OCD and citizens through the work in 10 forums;
• Increased transparency of the prosecutors’ offices works through their support in presenting the public’s results to the prosecutors’ offices within the community for the safety of the community;
• Increased citizens’ interest in working with prosecutors’ office, increased citizen awareness of the role and mandate of prosecutors’ offices;
• Sustainability of media visibility of prosecutions’ offices, especially in cases involving cooperation with witnesses and vulnerable groups.
