Political will
Demonstration and commitment by political leaders to face the challenges faced by society or to fulfill political promises, such as fighting corruption or increasing political participation, through monitoring appropriate policy responses, including broadly comprehensive reforms.
The UK government has been criticized by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for its lack of political will to prosecute foreign bribery, following its decision to suspend corruption investigations within BAE Systems, Britain’s largest arms dealer, which allegedly, with full knowledge from British authorities, paid hundreds of millions of pounds to Saudi Arabia’s former ambassador to the US.
