Refers to procedures, systems or departments within a public agency or enterprise, which ensure that all legal, financial and operational activities comply with applicable laws, rules, norms, regulations and standards.

In Bhutan, those found guilty of failing to comply with the 2006 Anti-Corruption Act, which requires public officials to accurately report their property and liabilities, are subject to penalties from the country’s penal code.
