Conflict of interests legalized in RS
Banja Luka, September 24 2009 – Appeal commission for determining the conflict of interests and the Commission for determining the conflict of interests in institutions of...
Appeal commission for determining the conflict of interests in institutions of RS dismissed as unfounded Transparency International BiH (TI BiH) appeal against the decision of the Commission for determining the conflict of interests in institutions of RS, in the case of the conflict of interests of Prime Minister Dodik in the occasion of Investment Development Bank of RS granting a loan to his son, while first degree commission dismissed TI BiH request as unauthorized. It is devastating that these commission when making both of these decisions, have not applied practically none of the valid legal regulations regulating the area of conflict of interests.
TI BiH believes that in this case a political decision was made that was not in any way based on positive legislation. In this way, an obvious conflict of interests was practically legalized, and bearers of highest functions are practically amnestied from responsibility.
TI BiH will use all legal means available in relation to this case and inform the relevant institutions of the fact that Appeal Commission and Commission for determining the conflict of interests in institutions of RS have shown in their actions that they are in fact political bodies controlled by the ruling regime in RS.
