The package will be a set of executive and legislative measures.

It is called for the time being Pecina's package after Interior Minister Martin Pecina.

Fischer spoke about the package when he named his caretaker government's priorities in the Chamber of Deputies in October.

The government listed its priorities after the planned early elections were not held.

Fischer's government was appointed in May after the centre-right coalition government of Mirek Topolanek (Civic Democrats, ODS) fell. It was to take the country to the early elections.

When the elections were scrapped its mandate was extended in October until the regular elections next May.

Fischer said today his government will present the package soon.

“It is necessary to take radical steps to cut the corruption potential,” Fischer said.

He said bribery frustrates society. “The perception of corruption may be even worse than corruption alone,” Fischer said.
