Committee chairman Banlu Siripanich said this after handing over an investigation report to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva at Government House.
Dr Banlu said the committee found the projects had been poorly planned and managed, and materials required such as medical supplies and equipment and ambulances were overpriced, which allowed loopholes for corruption.
He said the politicians involved – Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai and his deputy Manit Nop-amornbodi, who is in charge of the projects – should be held responsible, as should Siriwan Prasachaksatru, former secretary to the public health minister.
He said current and former ministry officials who should be investigated in connection with corruption in connection with corruption in the projects are Paichit Warachit, current permanent secretary for public health, Prat Boonyawongwiroj, former permanent secretary, Siriporn Kanchana, former deputy permanent secretary, and four other officials.
The committee has suggested that all projects be reviewed and all current and former officials concerned be investigated.
Mr Abhisit questioned Dr Banlu about the committee's findings for about 30 minutes after receiving the report.
